Sun Life Financial brings a sunshine smile to kids in need

In collaboration with Metro Radio, the year 2007 saw a series of three successful community events supported by Canto-pop star Joey Yung, our event ambassador, along with other local artistes and a team of passionate volunteers from Sun Life Hong Kong.

The first event, featuring the theme of "Shining Picture", took place on July 25, where more than 280 participants, including Joey Yung and Sun Life Shining Action volunteers and their relatives/friends, joined the volunteers and underprivileged children from S.K.H. Christopher's Home to take part in a wall painting activity in the Hong Kong Aviation Museum.

The second event "Shining Plant", held on September 27 at the Hong Kong Organic Country in Yuen Long, provided the opportunity for more than 120 participants to get close to the nature by learning about organic vegetables, working on the field and making fresh soy bean drinks and noodles.

As a finale of the year's community programme, Sun Life Financial sponsored Metro Radio's "Build Our Big Big World by Joey Yung" and invited our customers, business partners, journalists, advisors and staff members to share a joyous evening at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 18.

co-organize "Make a Wish Charity Carnvial"

With the support and dedication from over 60 Sun Life Financial volunteers, the "Make a Wish Charity Carnival" was successfully held at Maritime Square in Tsing Yi on September 2, 2006.

Our Senior Vice President, Agency and Retail Distribution Julia Wong, Commercial Radio's Director of External Affairs Amy Wong, our event ambassador Leon Lai together with the representative from UNICEF officiated the event.

The ceremony marked the beginning of the charity carnival when the officiating guests put the gold coins into a donation box, which signified giving energy to the giant Ferris wheel that held the wishes of the tots.

The event highlights included four games booths, exciting artist performances and UNICEF's young envoys experience sharing talk. The meaningful afternoon ended with a dancing performance by a group of lovely children.

Once again, we would like to thank you our volunteers for their effort and those who participated and donated to UNICEF.
