Sun Life Hong Kong Launches Food Donation Campaign 2018 to Support Students of Fresh Fish Traders’ School

[Hong Kong, September 3, 2018] Sun Life Hong Kong today announced the launch of Sun Life Food Donation Campaign 2018, to support the operation of the food bank of Fresh Fish Traders’ School. It is hoped that through the campaign, students of Fresh Fish Traders’ School can obtain more resources and need not worry about the daily supply of food.

“Sun Life is committed to supporting the local community,” said Belinda Au, General Manager of Distribution and Marketing at Sun Life Hong Kong Limited. “Now in its eighth year, Sun Life Food Donation Campaign is an annual event to support the Fresh Fish Traders’ School students and their families by providing food and study equipment. With this support, the students can focus on their studies. I look forward to the active participation of the public. We will also have a promotion internally, to encourage our staff and advisors to make donations."

Sun Life Food Donation Campaign 2018 will be held from today till October 5, 2018. Foods with an expiry period of over one year, which are in original packaging, and do not need refrigerating, are preferred – such as canned food, rice, cooking oil, noodles, snacks etc. Donations of supermarket and cake vouchers are also welcome. Anyone wishing to support the campaign can deliver the food or vouchers to Sun Life Financial Café (Address: 8/F, Sun Life Tower, 15 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong) or to Fresh Fish Traders’ School (Address: 33 Sycamore Street, Tai Kok Tsui, Hong Kong).

The Facebook page of Sun Life Financial Hong Kong will launch an online promotion program. Sun Life will donate HK$51 to the school for each new “Like” on its page (www.facebook.com/sunlifeHK) during the program period, to help buy tablets for teaching purposes.

Founded in 1969, the Fresh Fish Traders’ School is a primary school in Tai Kok Tsui with 12 classes. More than half of the students are newly-arrived children or from families receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA).
