[October 29, 2024 – Hong Kong] Sun Life is delighted to announce the launch of “MPF Navigator”1 a next-generation investment tool. This innovative tool aims to encourage MPF members to take a more active role in managing their retirement savings. Developed by AQUMON, a leading financial technology digital wealth management company in Hong Kong, “MPF Navigator” integrates advanced algorithms, cutting-edge technology, and market analysis and forecasting trend from various financial experts including Sun Life Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited. The platform represents a true collaboration between human insight and machine intelligence. Initially, it will be available to selected Clients, with full access for all Sun Life MPF members by the first quarter of next year.
Through a simple assessment, “MPF Navigator” categorizes MPF members into five “Reference Investment Portfolios” based on their risk tolerance, investment goals, and investment preferences. These profiles - Ambitious, Growth, Balanced, Stable, and Cautious - each represents a different asset allocation between stocks and bonds, providing MPF members with diversified portfolios that meet their needs. “MPF Navigator” also provides quarterly updates to ensure MPF members receive timely information in response to market changes.
“MPF Navigator” employs advanced tokenisation technology to safeguard user privacy, allowing MPF members to access personalized MPF “Reference Investment Portfolios” without having to submit sensitive personal information such as full name, gender, ID number and other contact details. This enables MPF members to evaluate their accounts more comprehensively.
Rainbow Pan, General Manager, Wealth and Pension of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited, said, "MPF has been established for nearly 24 years and has helped build more than HK$1.23 trillion2 in retirement reserve for Hong Kong’s workforce. A well-managed MPF portfolio can significantly enhance MPF members’ retirement protection. Our internal data shows that in the past three years3, less than 30% of our MPF members have actively managed their MPF accounts through online platforms or apps. Busy schedules or a lack of investment knowledge often prevent MPF members from making timely decisions about their portfolios. At Sun Life, we put our Clients first, and with AQUMON, we have developed ‘MPF Navigator’, a cutting-edge investment platform that combines human expertise with advanced technology. Along with our upgraded retirement savings calculator, we are offering MPF members comprehensive, personalized, and timely solution to help them achieve their retirement goals.”
Stanely Ngan, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Life Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, said, "Our asset management team brings over 20 years of experience across fund-of-funds management, fund analysis, advisory and macroeconomic analysis. ‘MPF Navigator’ is designed to be user-friendly, combining big data technology with the ‘brains’ of our investment experts to offer MPF members comprehensive and personalised investment advice. With just a simple evaluation, MPF members can receive model portfolios that match their risk tolerance and investment objectives. In addition, MPF members can compare their current portfolio with the model portfolios of ‘MPF Navigator’, allowing for flexible management of asset allocation.”
Kelvin Lei, CEO and Co-founder of AQUMON, added, "We are delighted to partner with Sun Life in developing the industry's first investment tool driven by both human insight and machine intelligence. AQUMON’s strength lies in using digital wealth management technology to analyse big data, identify trends, assess risks and recognize opportunities. Sun Life’s asset management team excels in market analysis and forecasting future trends. Together, we provide MPF Clients with a smarter, simpler and more precise investment support experience.”
1“MPF Navigator” (AQUMON platform) and the Services are independently operated and provided by Magnum and are not related to Sun Life Hong Kong Limited or its affiliates (“Sun Life”). Any recommended portfolio(s) or information on the AQUMON platform is strictly for reference only. Investment involves risks and past performance is not indicative of future performance. Investment decision should not be solely based on fund performance. Other factors (e.g. fund’s investment objective, fees and charges, fund risk level, service level) should also be considered.
