Individual policies

You can settle your premium payments safely and conveniently via various methods. If you have registered for eAdvice, you may view your eReceipts at your My Sun Life HK app and web version once the payment is processed. Click on the payment methods below to learn more.

How to view your eReceipts?

  • Download and log in to My Sun Life HK app or web version
  • Choose ‘Policy Documents’ from the menu
  • Click ‘Official Receipts’ to view eReceipts for previous premium payments
Remarks
  • We shall discontinue the use of Interim Receipt with effect from 30 June 2024.
  • An official receipt will be issued to the policy owner upon receipt of the premium (except autopay payment).
  • To protect your interests, please pay the premium directly to “SUN LIFE HONG KONG LIMITED”. DO NOT pass cash or transfer funds to any third parties (including licensed insurance intermediary).

You can settle policy payments with FPS via the following ways:

  • Log in to My Sun Life HK. Go to ”My Policies” page and choose the policy you want to settle premium for. Click “Proceed to ePayment” under the “Billing” section. Screenshot the FPS payment QR code and settle premium via the app of your FPS service provider.
  • Scan the FPS QR code on the Premium Notice with your mobile phone.

Only HKD is accepted. The maximum amount of each transaction may vary between banks and individual account settings. You may contact your FPS provider for more details.

Important Notes:

  • Please allow 2 working days for the payment to be updated and keep the online payment proof for your record.

You can settle your premium and levy payment (if applicable) online for new applications and renewal premium anytime, anywhere in Hong Kong dollars (HKD) using Visa, Mastercard or China UnionPay cards*.

New Applications

You can use any Visa/Mastercard credit cards or China-issued China UnionPay cards to pay premiums for new applications.

Renewal Premium

You can proceed to the payment page in My Sun Life HK  by clicking "Proceed to ePayment" under the "Billing" section of "Policy Details".

Only overseas-issued Visa/Mastercard credit cards and China-issued China UnionPay cards will be accepted for renewal premium settlement.

Important Notes:

Payment will be processed by Visa/Mastercard/China UnionPay Payment Gateway Services. No credit card details will be stored in Sun Life's system. 

*For China UnionPay cards
China UnionPay is only applicable for making payments of Medical and Personal Accident Plans.
The daily transaction limit of China UnionPay for each Policy Owner is HKD37,000. This amount or the limit on the number of transactions may vary depending on the card issuer. If the transaction is not accepted, you should refer to your card issuer.

You can settle your premium payment either via direct debit from your HK dollar bank account or Sun Life Financial credit card. Company only accept to use bank account or credit card of policy owner, or third party including insured, policy owner's spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, grandchild to set up autopay.

To set up an autopay instruction, please contact your advisor or our Client Service Centre at (852) 2103 8928 to obtain the application form.

Bank account autopay

  • Under normal circumstances, the bank autopay application takes around 4-6 weeks to set up.
  • Only HK currency account is acceptable.

Sun Life Financial credit card autopay

  • If you are the Sun Life Financial credit card holder, you may settle your premium by using the Sun Life Financial credit card autopay service. For autopay application, it will take 7 days to setup.
  • The transaction currency is in HK dollar.

With PPS, you can settle your premium payment anytime, anywhere, through the use of a touch-tone telephone or via the Internet, from your pre-registered bank accounts.

You can settle your premium payment through ATMs 24 hours a day at any HSBC/Hang Seng Bank ATM with the 'Bill Payment Service' sign in Hong Kong.

  • You have to select the Bill Type as follows to make the payment:

  2. Policy Change / Reinstatement Deposit / Lump Sum Investment
  3. Policy Loan Repayment
  4. Deposit for Application

If you are a bank account holder at any participating banks and have registered for Internet Banking Service, you can settle the premium payments directly through the Internet. For details, please contact the individual bank accordingly.

  • You have to select the Bill Type as follows to make the payment:
    1. Renewal Premium & Levy
    2. Policy Change / Reinstatement Deposit / Lump Sum Investment
    3. Policy Loan Repayment
    4. Deposit for Application
    5. Levy only

If you are a bank account holder at any participating banks and have registered for Phone Banking Service, you can settle your premium payments by using a touch tone phone. For details, please contact the individual bank accordingly.

  3. Policy Loan Repayment

You may deposit HKD Cash and USD notes directly to any branches of Citibank in Hong Kong. Not applicable for cheque deposit service.

  • The designated deposit slips would be obtained at Citibank.
  • You may keep the deposit advice for your record.

You can bring along your billing notice to settle your premium payment in cash at any 7-Eleven stores in Hong Kong.

  • Maximum limit per transaction: HK$5,000
  • Maximum limit per client per year: HK$300,000

  • We will update your payment record in 2 working days.
  • You may keep the payment receipt for your record.

You can settle the policy payment by Telegraphic Transfer/Local Bank Transfer. Applicable to payments for premium and / or levy.

Important Notes:

  • We accept payment from the policy owner or eligible third-party. Eligible third-party includes insured, policy owner's spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, grandchild. For third-party payments, Third Party Payment Declaration Form and a copy of the payer's ID card are required for record purposes.
  • The service charge of Telegraphic Transfer is borne by the payer. Please contact the relevant bank for details.
  • Policy number, Policy owner’s name and payment purpose (e.g. Premium/ Levy) must be filled in at the "Message to Payee"/ "Message to Beneficiary" section. Payment will be applied to policy premium, unless other payment purposes are specified in the remittance advice. Payment allocation must be provided if the payment is paid for more than one policy, e.g. E12345678 HKD3000, E23456789 HKD5000.
  • Payment record must be provided after completing the Telegraphic Transfer / Local Bank Transfer. Please notify your Advisor or contact us to follow up on the payment by providing the payment records.
  • For HKD policies, only payments in HKD will be accepted. For USD/RMB/AUD/CAD/GBP policies, only payments in HKD or in policy currency will be accepted.
    You should ensure your premium payments are sent to the correct bank account above in the respective currency acceptable to the policy. If the TT remittance is not in the correct currency, the bank may still accept your TT remittance and perform foreign exchange translation automatically according to the prevailing exchange rates as determined by the bank. SLHK will not bear these exchange rate risks and the bank charges involved.
  • We will send an official receipt to the policy owner when we receive the remittance.

MPF Schemes

DDA service allows you to make MPF contribution through a designated bank account to the Trustee's MPF account conveniently.

As soon as the Remittance Statement is reconciled, the MPF Trustee will collect the amount from your designated bank account according to the contribution date as specified in the DDA registration form.

Please deposit sufficient cash 5 working days before contribution due date.

Sun Life Rainbow MPF Scheme (Applicable to Employer Account, Self-employer Person Account and Tax Deductible Voluntary Contribution Account)

 “Direct Credit” allows you to deposit MPF contributions to Trustee’s designated bank account directly by bank transfer or cheque deposit. “Direct Credit is applicable to Employer Account, Self-employed Person Account and Tax Deductible Voluntary Contribution Account.

To make MPF contributions via “Direct Credit” and learn more details (e.g. required supporting documents) and operation procedures, please visit the “Find a Form” page under www.sunlife.com.hk to download the MPF Contribution Direct Credit Notification or contact the Sun Life Pension Services Hotline at (852) 3183 1888.

Sun Life Rainbow MPF Scheme:

Please make cheque payable to “Sun Life Trustee Company Limited – MPF” and mark the employer name, the MPF Employer Number and contribution period at the back of the cheque. Send the cheque together with a completed Remittance Statement to “Sun Life Trustee Company Limited, P.O. Box 95868, Tsimshatsui Post Office” 5 working days before the Contribution Day.

Sun Life MPF Master Trust:

Please make cheque payable to “Sun Life MPF Master Trust” and mark the employer name, account number and contribution period at the back of the cheque. Sun Life MPF Basic/Comprehensive Scheme:

ORSO scheme

You can deposit the contributions directly to specific Sun Life Hong Kong bank account at least 5 working days before contribution due date. Please then send the copy of the credit slip with a completed Contribution List to us by fax or mail.
