Terminology mapping table

In order to comply with the new insurance regulation, the new terminologies will be applicable to your product and policy correspondences. The terminology mapping tables provide you with a mapping of the current terminologies you might find in your policy documents with the corresponding new terminologies in your policy value projection.

The terminology changes do not impact your policy and the benefits and terms and conditions under your policy(ies) remain unchanged.

Policies issued by Sun Life Financial (Hong Kong) Limited or Sun Life Hong Kong Limited

You can find the terminology mapping table below for individual participating policies and universal life policies issued by Sun Life Financial (Hong Kong) Limited after March 31, 2000 but on or before March 17, 2006; or individual participating policies and universal life policies issued by Sun Life Hong Kong Limited after March 17, 2006.

Policies issued by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada prior to April 1, 2000

You can find the terminology mapping table below for individual participating policies issued on or before March 31, 2000 by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada which were transferred to Sun Life Financial (Hong Kong) Limited in 2000 and were subsequently transferred to Sun Life Hong Kong Limited in 2006.

Policies issued by CMG Asia Limited

You can find the terminology mapping table below for individual participating policies issued by CMG Asia Limited (now named Sun Life Hong Kong Limited) based on applications signed on or before March 17, 2006; or individual participating policies issued by CMG Asia Limited, or Sun Life Hong Kong Limited resulting from conversions of term policies (originally issued by CMG Asia Limited) on or before October 1, 2006.

Policies issued by Guardian Assurance Public Limited Company

You can find the terminology mapping table below for with-profit policies issued on or before June 30, 1999 by the Hong Kong branch of Guardian Assurance Public Limited Company and transferred to CMG Asia Limited (now named Sun Life Hong Kong Limited) in 1999.
