•     Book and arrange outpatient specialist appointments or doctor referrals in Hong Kong through our medical network

•     If you are diagnosed with an Eligible Medical Condition2 by a registered medical practitioner, we will form a case team to immediately follow up, and refer suitable specialists (including top doctors from Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and CUHK Medical Centre) through our medical network in Hong Kong.

•     Our team of our medical network3 will provide a face-to-face second medical consultation or remote consultation4 to evaluate your condition, followed by a tailored and comprehensive medical solution

•     One free consultation for each Eligible Medical Condition5

A) If you feel unwell, please follow the steps below to make an appointment:

Step 1: Contact us

  • Call HMG 24-hour hotline at (852) 3002 0816 or China toll free hotline 400 616 0151 and provide the required information
  • HMG will inform you on the turnaround and arrange the appointment

Step 2: Confirm service

  • Confirm with HMG whether to proceed with the service.

Step 3: Make appointment

  • Upon your confirmation, HMG will confirm the appointment with the service provider. A confirmation notification, including name of service provider, address, date and time will be sent to you via e-message.

 

B) If you are unfortunately diagnosed with a Qualifying Medical Condition5 diagnosed by a medical practitioner, please follow the steps below to make an appointment:

Step 1: Contact us

  • Call HMG 24-hour hotline at (852) 3002 0816 and provide the required information.
    • Your name, address and telephone number
    • Your policy number
    • Your diagnosis with all the necessary medical history, reports or tests
    • Your signed consent form to HMG

Step 2: Get service details and shortlist the leading medical centers

  • The specialist referred by HMG will provide:
    • explanation of medical documents and diagnosis reports;
    • information on the common course of medical treatments; and 
    • information on the range of medical expenses should medical treatments be administered in the location where the HMG Network Doctor(s) and Network Provider is located.

Step 3: Confirm service

  • Confirm with HMG whether to proceed with the service.

Step 4: Make appointment

  • Upon your confirmation, HMG will confirm the appointment with the service provider and notifying you including the name of service provider, address, date and time and related fee (if applicable) via e-message.

Step 5: Receive your referral letter

  • Upon your request, a written referral letter to consult a specialist relevant to the illness will be prepared for you.

Tips: If any fees and charges are not covered under your policy or by the third-party company shall be borne by you.

  1. The Value-added Services are provided by HealthMutual Group Limited ("HMG"). Sun Life HK is not the service provider of any of the Value-added Services and we do not guarantee the end results of your use of the Value-added Services. We make no representation, warranty or undertaking as to the quality and availability of the Value-added Services and shall not be responsible for any act, negligence or failure to act on the part of HMG. Sun Life HK will not be liable for any loss or damage, costs or other expenses whatsoever and howsoever, directly or indirectly, caused by, arising from or in connection with the Value-added Services provided by HMG (no matter what and how such loss or damage is caused). 
  2. An Eligible Medical Condition refers to the covered medical conditions under this service, which include any medical conditions except the following: (i) It is not the first diagnosis of the medical condition of the insured; (ii) The insured has not been evaluated by a registered medical practitioner for the medical condition within the last 12 calendar months; (iii) If the insured has developed an acute or life-threatening condition and should seek immediate medical assistance from the registered medical practitioner treating them, rather than delaying rescue while waiting for the arrival of this service; or (iv) The medical condition which requires physical evaluation of the insured.
  3. The list of network hospitals and medical centers, and the procedures for medical consultation under AdvicePro (Face-to-face second medical opinion service) may be changed from time to time by HMG without prior notice.   4. For the insured who resides in Mainland China but is unable to travel to Hong Kong or the insured who resides in Hong Kong but is unable to visit the designated clinics, a remote consultation could be arranged subject to HMG’s approval and in compliance with the Hong Kong and Mainland China medical practices and regulatory requirements.
  5. If you are holding Critical Illnesses Plans, this benefit will terminate 1 year from the date Sun Life HK has approved the claim for the benefits mentioned above, and the insured has selected to use this benefit in respect of the above claim.
