AdvicePro (Face-to-face Second Medical Opinion Services)1

If you are suffering from qualifying medical condition2 per diagnosis from a medical specialist, you can seek a face-to-face second medical consultation or teleconsultation4 given by our network doctor3 in Hong Kong. Each insured is eligible for this service once free of charge per diagnosis5 which satisfy the qualifying medical condition from a medical specialist.

Step 1: Contact us

Call HMG 24-hour hotline at (852) 3002 0816 and provide the required information.

  • Your name, address and telephone number
  • Your policy number
  • Your diagnosis with all the necessary medical history, reports or tests
  • Your signed consent form to HMG

Step 2: Get service details and shortlist the leading medical centers

The specialist referred by HMG will provide:

  • explanation of medical documents and diagnosis reports;
  • information on the common course of medical treatments; and 
  • information on the range of medical expenses should medical treatments be administered in the location where the HMG Network Doctor(s) and Network Provider is located.

Step 3: Confirm service

Confirm with HMG whether to proceed with the service.

Step 4: Make appointment

Upon your confirmation, HMG will confirm the appointment with the service provider and notifying you including the name of service provider, address, date and time and related fee (if applicable) via e-message.

Step 5: Receive your referral letter

Upon your request, a written referral letter to consult a specialist relevant to the illness will be prepared for you.

 

Tips: AdvicePro (Face-to-face Second Medical Opinion Services) is free for the first consultation, any fee and charge of follow-up consultation (if any) shall be borne by you.

  1. The Value-added Services are provided by a third-party company, HealthMutual Group Limited ("HMG") and is not guaranteed to be renewable. Sun Life Hong Kong Limited ("Sun Life HK") is not responsible for any act, negligence or failure to act on the part of the designated third-party company or service provider. Sun Life HK will not be liable for any loss or damage, costs or other expenses whatsoever and howsoever, directly or indirectly, caused by, arising from or in connection with the services.
  2. Qualifying Medical Conditions mean the covered medical conditions for this service, which include any medical conditions with the following exceptions: (i) It is not the first diagnosis of the medical condition of the insured; or (ii) The insured has not been evaluated by a registered medical practitioner for his/her medical condition within the last 12 calendar months; or (iii) The insured has developed an acute or life threatening condition and should seek the immediate medical care of his/her treating registered medical practitioner that should not be delayed by the arrival of this service; or (iv) The medical condition which requires physical evaluation of the insured. If you are holding Critical Illnesses Plans, you could enjoy the AdvicePro (Face-to-face Second Medical Opinion Services) after the claim under the policy is approved and paid.
  3. The list of hospital and medical centers in our network and the AdvicePro (Face-to-face Second Medical Opinion Services) procedures may be changed from time to time without prior notice. For the full list of medical centers, please contact your advisor for more details.
  4. For the insured who resides in Mainland China and could not make a trip to Hong Kong or insured who resides in Hong Kong but could not travel to the selected clinic, a teleconsultation could be arranged subject to HMG’s approval and compile with both Hong Kong and Mainland China medical practices and regulatory requirements.
  5. If you are holding Critical Illnesses Plans, this benefit will terminate 1 year from the date Sun Life HK has approved the claim for the benefits mentioned above, and the insured has selected to use this benefit in respect of the above claim.
