Alert: Suspected Fraudulent Promotion Activities

Hong Kong, November 8, 2022 – Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (“the Company”) would like to alert the general public and clients to stay vigilant against possible fraudulent promotion activities. Fraudsters claiming to be the Company’s advisors, have used a fraudulent website with domain name http://sun-lifegroup.com and unauthorized Apps “Sun Life Wallet” to promote money lending services which does not belong to the Company’s scope of business. The suspected fraudulent activities have been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force and the Insurance Authority.

The Company does not provide any money lending services and has no connection to the possible fraudulent activities, website and Apps. Clients and the public are reminded to stay vigilant and not to provide their personal or account information or transfer payment to unofficial or unverified websites & applications in relation to the Company. The Company will never request clients to transfer money to bank accounts owned by any third parties.

If the public or clients are concerned that they may have disclosed any personal information or have conducted any financial transactions through the fraudsters, they should immediately contact the Hong Kong Police Force Anti-Deception Coordination Centre at (852) 18222.

The Company’s official website is https://www.sunlife.com.hk, and My Sun Life HK Client Digital Platforms can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play and Sun Life’s official website.

Necessary steps should always be taken to verify the identity of the caller or sender to protect ourselves from scams. Clients are advised to call the Company’s Client Service Hotline (852) 2103 8928 when in doubt.
