Alert: Suspected Fraudulent Promotion Activities

Hong Kong, Aug 2, 2024 – Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (“Sun Life Hong Kong” or “the Company”) would like to alert the general public and clients to stay vigilant against possible fraudulent promotion activities. Recently, an individual named Kang Seung-min (姜勝民, 강승민), based in South Korea, has falsely claimed to be a Sun Life’s employee/financial advisor/broker. He has been promoting false product and pyramid scheme that does not belong to the Company via social media. The suspected fraudulent activities have been reported to the Insurance Authority.

The Company wishes to clarify that it has no affiliation with the possible fraudulent promotion activities. Clients and the public are reminded to stay vigilant and not to provide their personal or account information or transfer payment to unidentified or unauthorized parties purported to be in connection with the Company. The Company will never request clients to transfer money to bank accounts owned by any third parties.
