Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Special Client Support 

From now until March 31, 2023

In view of COVID-19 situation, below relaxation on hospital income and hospital cash benefit and Additional Death Benefit are effective:

1.    Relaxation on Hospital Income and Hospital Cash Benefit 

From March 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, hospitalization in the following community centers is eligible to hospital income and hospital cash benefits for selected medical products in which the insured was diagnosed with COVID-19:

a)    Asia World-Expo;

b)    North Lantau Hospital HK Infection Control Center;

c)    Penny’s Bay Quarantine Center;

d)    community isolation facility in Tsing Yi;

e)    community isolation facility in San Tin;

f)     community isolation facility in Fanling;

g)    community isolation facility on the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities Island of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge;

h)    community isolation facility in Hung Shui Kiu; 

i)     community isolation facility in Yuen Long Tam Mi; and

j)     Kai Tak Community Isolation Facility 

No application is required for the special arrangement and it is provided free of charge. 

* Selected medical products refers to SunHealth Medical Premier, SunHealth Medical Essential, SunHealth Medical Care, Hospital Income Insurance Plan, SunHealth Medical Fit and Bright Superb Health.

 

2.    Additional Death Benefit

From now until March 31, 2023, if an Insured Person / insured unfortunately passes away due to COVID-19, in addition of the death benefit under his/her WeHealth Preferred or WeHealth Prestige or SunHealth LovePromise policies, Sun Life will pay an extra HKD100,000 death benefit to assist your beloved ones in these difficult times.

A client must fulfill one of the followings for the above entitlement:

  1. successfully migrated their existing policy to WeHealth Prestige between March 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023;
  2. successfully migrated their existing policy to WeHealth Preferred between March 18, 2022 and March 31, 2023;
  3. successfully applied for WeHealth Prestige or SunHealth LovePromise between March 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023;
  4.  successfully applied for WeHealth Preferred between March 18, 2022 and March 31, 2023; or
  5. have in-forced policy(ies) of WeHealth Prestige or SunHealth LovePromise on or before March 1, 2022.

The Additional Death Benefit is provided free of charge.

The following terms and conditions apply to the offers (“Offers”) during January 1, 2023 to March 31, 2023, both days inclusive (“Promotion Period”). By participating in the Offers, the participants understand and expressly agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

a. The gourmet voucher is only available during the Promotion Period stated above. Participation outside the Promotion Period is not eligible.

b. The financial advisors and existing clients of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (“Sun Life”) are not eligible.

c. Participants need to complete all aforementioned steps in order to participate (“Eligible participants”).

d. The gourmet voucher is provided by Starbucks and ParknShop; Sun Life is not the supplier of the gourmet voucher (“Gifts”). Any enquiry or complaint for the quality related to the redemption and use of the Gifts should be directed to the relevant service provider or other third parties. Sun Life shall assume no liability in respect thereof. The service provider is solely responsible for all service offered to participants.

e. No transfer, assignment, cash redemption or substitution of Gifts by participants is permitted. Sun Life, may at its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute the Gifts (or part of the Gifts) with an alternative Gift with the equal monetary value and/or specification.

f.  The redemption and use of the Gifts shall be subject to the terms of conditions of the voucher / service provider.

g.  If for any reason the Offers are not capable of running as planned, due to an event of force majeure or any other cause outside Sun Life reasonable control, Sun Life reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Offers or relevant events without prior notice.

h. Gifts will be given out in a first come, first served basis, maximum 2,000 Eligible participants, each is entitled to enjoy once.

i.  Eligible participants will be contacted by email or SMS for gourmet voucher redemption within one month after participation upon the completion of all aforementioned steps.

j.  Sun Life reserves the right to amend the above terms and conditions without prior notice. In case of any dispute arising from this Offers, the decision of Sun Life shall be final and conclusive.

k. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Hong Kong.
