Sun Life enhances Client experience and product flexibility by upgrading SunJoy Global with six policy currencies and extending exclusive medical services

– Sun Life Hong Kong Limited ("Sun Life") announced today an upgrade to SunJoy Global, with the addition of Australian Dollar (AUD) and Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), thereby expanding its policy currency to six types and enhancing the product’s flexibility. Sun Life is also launching a promotion for its Clients, extending its exclusive medical services1 coverage to Eligible Savings Plans2, including SunJoy, SunGift, SunJoy Global and SunGift Global. This promotional offer provides all-rounded care and services to the policy owner, the insured and their immediate family members3.

Key highlights include:

1)       SunJoy Global has been upgraded to offer six policy currencies with effect from 1 November 2024

  • Starting from the 3rd policy anniversary, Clients may apply to exercise the Currency Change Option4, allowing for a change in policy currency freely between United States Dollar (USD), Canadian Dollar (CAD), British Pound Sterling (GBP), Renminbi (RMB), Australian Dollar (AUD) or Hong Kong Dollar (HKD);
  • Clients can make hassle-free cash withdrawals via SunWallet, a one-stop electronic withdrawal platform. This industry-first feature enables Clients to enjoy cash withdrawals without geographical limitations, even while residing overseas.

2)      Extends exclusive medical services5 coverage to Eligible Savings Plans2

  • Medical Concierge Services: Arrange appointments for specialist consultation, doctor referrals, day case surgery and hospitalization in Hong Kong;
  • AdvicePro (Face-to-face second medical opinion service): If a Client is diagnosed with an eligible medical condition by a registered medical practitioner, he/she can receive one face-to-face second medical opinion consultation or remote consultation for each eligible medical condition from Sun Life’s network of medical experts in Hong Kong;
  • Mainland China VIP Medical Navigation Service: Sun Life provides escort and navigation service to Clients at network hospitals in mainland China;
  • Medical Green Channel: Clients can secure priority booking for outpatient or hospitalization appointments at Sun Life’s designated network hospitals across mainland China, which encompass over 2,000 3A-Grade public hospitals and premium private hospitals;
  • Overseas Medical Referral and Arrangement Service: If a Client resides in Hong Kong, Macau or mainland China and unfortunately suffers from an eligible medical condition that requires medical treatment overseas, Sun Life will provide comprehensive one-stop overseas medical services support. Services include referral and pre-selection of quality overseas hospitals, review of medical case with medical experts from international medical network, visa facilitation and travel arrangement.
  • Comprehensive Genomic Profiling: In the event of a solid tumor diagnosis, an eligible Client is entitled to a one-time complimentary comprehensive genomic profiling test per policy. A liquid biopsy blood sample helps identify gene mutations in cancer cells, enabling medical practitioner to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to the Client’s genetic profile.
