Sun Life Donates 6,500 Bottles of Hand Sanitizer to Support the Needy

Hong Kong, March 18, 2020 –  Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (‘the Company”) has donated 3,500 bottles of hand sanitizer to St. James’ Settlement, and another 3,000 bottles to Heep Hong Society, in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

Rainbow Pan, General Manager, Wealth and Pensions, Sun Life Hong Kong Limited, said, “While the supply of medical and protective equipment has started to stabilize, the costs of health and personal care products could be an extra burden to the vulnerable. As a responsible corporate citizen, we are committed to supporting the needy.”

A recent survey commissioned by the Company has revealed that the public’s level of health awareness has elevated following the coronavirus outbreak. Conducted via online questionnaires between February 27 and March 3, 2020, and surveyed 1,030 respondents in Hong Kong, the survey found that the outbreak has inspired Hong Kong people to appreciate the importance of health (57%), be willing to help the vulnerable (44%), and to enjoy the moment (38%). According to the survey, raising the awareness of good hygiene (71%), more medical and protective supplies (52%), and more self-discipline (47%) are top 3 elements for building healthy communities in the long run.
