[Hong Kong, September 5, 2019] To support the operation of the food bank of Fresh Fish Traders’ School under soaring prices, Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (“the Company”) launches “Sun Life Food Donation Campaign” for the ninth consecutive year to encourage the general public to donate food to students of Fresh Fish Traders’ School. It is hoped that through the campaign, students can obtain sufficient resources and need not worry about the daily supply of food.
“In line with our brand personality : caring and optimistic, we are organising the Food Donation Campaign for the ninth consecutive year to support Fresh Fish Traders’ School students by providing food and teaching equipment. With this support, the students can focus on their studies and be what they want to be. We also strongly encourage the general public to support the campaign,” said Belinda Au, General Manager, Distribution & Marketing of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited.
“Thanks to the continuous support of Sun Life and the active participation of the society, the donation campaign has achieved remarkable results in past years. The smooth operation of the food bank can help the students on their daily needs. With the donation of the teaching equipment by Sun Life, we can enhance our students’ learning experience and enable them to acquire knowledge in a fun and interactive way,” said Sze Chi King, Principal of Fresh Fish Traders’ School.
Sun Life Food Donation Campaingn 2019 will be held from today to September 27. Foods with an expiry period of over one year, which are in their original packaging, and do not need refrigeration, are preferred – such as canned food, rice, cooking oil, noodles, snacks etc. Donations of supermarket and cake vouchers are also welcome. Anyone wishing to support the campaign can deliver the food or vouchers to Sun Life Financial Café (Address: 8/F, Sun Life Tower, The Gateway, 15 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong) or to Fresh Fish Traders’ School (Address: 33 Sycamore Street, Tai Kok Tsui, Hong Kong).
During the campaign period, the Company will also donate a tablet1 to the school to enhance its teaching equipment for every 100 new “Likes” it receives on its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/sunlifeHK).
Founded in 1969, the Fresh Fish Traders’ School is a primary school with 12 classes. Most students are new to Hong Kong or are from families receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA).
