The Sun Life Resolution Run Attracts Record Participation

4,000 runners signed up to make a New Year’s resolution to live healthier
while raising funds for Diabetes Hongkong

[Hong Kong, January 27, 2019]  Title-sponsored by Sun Life Financial and organised by Asia Sport Connection, the third edition of the Sun Life Resolution Run with more than 4,000 runners signed up, was held today at Hong Kong Science Park. The run raised HK$150,000 for Diabetes Hongkong, to help raise public awareness of the disease and provide support to patients and their families.

Officiated by Fabien Jeudy, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited, the event featured 10km and 5km races, a 3km kid’s race and a 1km family race, plus a joyous carnival. The champion of the 10km race is Ivan Lo Ching Hin, with a time of 30:33.

"The Sun Life Resolution Run is one of our regional annual events, and is held in different markets within Asia including Hong Kong to encourage everyone to get active and make a New Year’s resolution to lead a healthier lifestyle. In Hong Kong, this is the third year that we are sponsoring the event, and by raising funds for Diabetes Hongkong, we hope to increase the community’s concern regarding the disease and care of the patients.“

The Sun Life Resolution Run also invited four renowned local athletes – Hong Kong triathletes Ying Tsang Chun Kit and Leanne Szeto Shiu Yan; and runners in the Hong Kong national athletic team Zero Yu Hin Wa and Natasha Wong Tsz Yan  - to participate as ambassadors and run in the event.
