Hong Kong, Jan 17, 2024 – Sun Life Hong Kong Limited ("Sun Life Hong Kong" or "the Company") announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Continuing and Professional Education (“ICAPE”) of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong to launch the “Course on the Frontier Knowledge of Contemporary HNWI Financial Planning Strategy and Family Office Practice”. This marks the first of its kind in Hong Kong jointly organized by an insurance company and a local university, sustaining family legacies in Hong Kong while enhancing the professional knowledge of insurance practitioners in the industry including Sun Life Hong Kong’s employees, financial advisors and brokers.
In the first phase of collaboration, ICAPE will offer training courses to Sun Life Hong Kong this year, benefitting thousands of participants. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the coverage of the entire training program, not only to enhance the knowledge of participants but also to promote the overall development of the industry.
The course is designed for professionals in the fields of insurance, wealth management and financial planning, as well as heads of families or family members. It will enable them to learn and strengthen their knowledge and skills so that they can navigate the complexities of wealth management and effectively address the various needs of ultra-high-net-worth families. Through this training, they will be able to enhance their professionalism and competitiveness in the field of financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and family office management.
By launching this training course, Sun Life Hong Kong provides a platform for participants to share their expertise and enhance their professional skills various areas relating to wealth management for high-net-worth individuals and family offices. These include corporate insurance, senior executive insurance, trusts, taxation, wealth preservation and accumulation, legacy planning, and family office support services. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate jointly awarded by Sun Life Hong Kong and ICAPE, recognizing their professional advancement.
Sun Life Hong Kong will also be able to leverage ICAPE’s and the Chinese Family Succession Research Centre’s academic research, data, and analysis on family offices and family legacy to strengthen its business development, enhance the professional knowledge of both frontline and back-office staff, and optimize its services for high-net-worth Clients. These synergies will benefit more consumers in society and bring greater value to the local insurance industry.
